The website is born! However not much content as yet but it is a work in progress for my spare time.
Kosmos Sighthounds now has a Facebook page! Search for Kosmos Sighthounds and "Like" the hounds' home on Facebook.
Wow, a year already since the website was published! So much has happened- many shows; new dogs. 2014 was very exciting and successful.
With some prompting from my good friend Nikki with the Springles (that is Rheged Springer Spaniels for those who don't know), I have done heaps of work on the website and hopefully it looks much better now. Enjoy! There could still be some broken links, please do not hesitate to contact me if you find any errors.
The next important job will be the creation of a links page.
Kosmos Adelaide trip, January 2015,
Our main destinations:
The travellers (in order of age- no preferences here!):
Yes, six dogs is very time consuming for one person (stops along the way take 30 - 45 minutes each by the time everyone has been walked, sometimes longer!) Millie was not showing but came along for the ride anyway as she is just *so* special, and we just cannot be separated. Poor Rosie had to stay home which was very hard for me, but I just had to draw the line at one non-showing dog on the trip, especially as they travel through the hot centre of Aus in the car rather than the trailer It would have been a real squeeze fitting seven into two cages.
We had a wonderful trip, and all the dogs performed beautifully and made me very proud. In between showing we visited friends and toured through the beautiful Adelaide Hills. I am blown away by how well the dogs behaved in the car- they slept through two days of travelling each way with minimal stops, and not so much as a whimper. Nights were spent in the "Wogdog Motel" and again, not a whimper. When staying with my good friend Teresa, they slept in their trollies in the bedroom with me. Such good travelling wogz.
Roll on our next trip!
The team had a wonderful time at the three championship shows held in Alice Springs last night. The highlight was undoubtedly Nick taking his championship point score over the magical 1000 mark making him eligible for the title of Grand Champion. He also added two more Best in Group wins to his tally bringing his total to 20, and making him eligible for the title of Supreme Champion. I am immensely proud of my boy and amazed at this achievement - I never thought it possible.
The other really exciting result for me was Paris gaining her first ever championship points by being awarded two Bitch Challenges and one Best in Group. Most judges dismiss poor little Paris as she has a broken tail (which she somehow managed to break when a tiny puppy- even though she was one of a litter of just two pups!) I had persuaded myself that she would never win a challenge certificate, and it was very gratifying to have two judges make lovely comments about this girl that I think is a gorgeous little Iggie. It was also yet another lesson for me, proving that just about anything is possible if you keep trying and doing your best, and you should never give up.
Last but not least, Millie at 7 and a half years old was awarded a Reserve Challenge at the third show. I am so very happy that my extra special little Millie is still showing so nicely and happily.
Rosie came along as a spectator, not wanting to be left at home. She enjoyed plenty of cuddles. I do so wish I could still show her but I am starting to accept that her dislocated toe seems to be here to stay, and I now manage not to burst into tears every time I look at her or think about it.

Our last shows were on Saturday 2 & Sunday 3 May: Five championship shows in Alice Springs. Results soon- I've been busy!!
I am looking forward to our next shows, a shame there is so much time between shows in this part of the world!
Our September trip to Adelaide (including competing at the Adelaide Royal and three Murray Valley Kennel Club Championships Shows) is now over and all that remains of our show year is the Alice Springs November shows. I need to update this page, but time seems to have been at a premium. Watch this space!
Obviously I don't update this page very often! I am a very proud owner/breeder right now. It is time for our annual September pilgrimage to Adelaide to compete at the Adelaide Royal show. My little wogdog family of Goldie (mum) with Sienna and Kholo (kids) was placed third in the Dam & Progeny class yesterday (2 Sept 18). So proud of my little family, who placed in this event last year as well.
